A brief history of Coronation (1990–2020)
1990 – 2020 年简史
Coronation has its roots in Evangel Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Shen, the former Consulting Pastor of Evangel, led the efforts in ministering to the Chinese-speaking people and established a Mandarin/Cantonese service in November 1986. The newly established service held its gatherings in a bungalow on Coronation Road, and Rev. Russell Morris and his wife, May, a missionary couple sent by the American Southern Baptist Mission, were invited to assist in its beginnings.
加冕浸信教会原属宣道浸信教会。当时宣道顾问牧师沈立德牧师带领推动华文事工，于1986 年11月份成立了宣道华／粵语崇拜，地点在加 冕路“宣道之家”。同时邀请美南浸信差会宣教士毛若瑟牧师与师母协助。
In 1988, the Church Registration Application Committee was formed, with Rev. Morris as the advisor in drafting the Church Constitution and “Coronation Baptist Church” as the official name of the church. Following the submission of the Church Registration Application in 1989, approval was granted by the authorities on 17 May 1990 and Coronation Baptist Church was officially established. The Church Constitution was also approved in January 1992. Between 1989 and 1992, Sunday worship service was held in the afternoon at the second worship hall of Thomson Road Baptist Church.
后于1988年成立了教会注册申请委员会，以宣教士毛若瑟为顾问起草教会章程，以“加冕浸信教会”为教会名称。在1989年向政府提呈申请注册教会后，终于在1990年5月17日获准成 立加冕浸信教会 (Coronation Baptist Church)。 加冕现有徽章则于1992年1月获准使用。教会于 1989年至1992年期间曾借用淡申律浸信教会副堂在下午举行崇拜。
In 1992, God led us to our “promised land” when we purchased unit No. 7 on Geylang Lorong 25A as the new church premise. In 2005, we also acquired the adjacent unit, No. 4 on Geylang Lorong 25, to meet the needs for more space.
1992年，上帝带领我们来到了“应许之地”， 购买了Lorong 25A Geylang 的7号单位，即我 们现在的聚会处加冕活动中心。在2005年，教会再购买了隔壁的Lorong 25的4号单位，以扩 大场地使用。
In response to the Great Commission, Coronation has been engaged in overseas missions since 1996, starting in Myanmar before expanding to several other Asian nations. We have also been actively reaching out to the Mainland Chinese working in Singapore, ministering to their spiritual needs and providing them with social care support and other services.
自从1996年，加冕开始积极的推动差传事工以 完成大使命，由缅甸开始再到其他亚洲国家， 直到今日。教会也向在新加坡工作的中国大陆人士作本地宣教，并提供其它社会关怀服务。
Since 2000, Coronation has adopted an annual theme that encourages members to grow spiritually and to move forward with one mind. In 2004, the 2nd Service (now known as English Service) was established under the leadership of Dr. Chu Mei Juan to provide pastoral care to the local youths.
自2000年以来，加冕推行教会年度主题，鼓励会众迎接挑战同心前行。于2004年，基于牧养 本地年轻人的需要，在朱美娟师母带领下成立 了第二堂(现称英语崇拜)。在2015年，教会确定了五年计划， 旨在2020年即30周年之际成为一间“门徒导向及跨文化差传”的教会。
Coronation has reached another milestone as we celebrated our 30th anniversary this year, 2020. Building on the themes from the previous two years—“Abiding in Christ” and “Connectivity”—the theme for this year is “Let Christ be First”, which challenges the congregation to be committed to Christ (His sovereignty and spiritual growth) and our neighbours (gospel works and influencing lives). This year also marks the last of a five-year roadmap to become a “Discipleship-driven and Cross-cultural Mission Church” that started in 2015. May God add to our number those who are being saved as we abide by one simple principle for the Gospel mission: sowing precedes reaping. Though sowing does not immediately produce a harvest, there will be a time of reaping as long as the seeds are being sowed.
2020年加冕已进入成立后的第三十周年，亦是欢庆的时刻。延续过去两年的“会遇神”与“ 连接”，教会今年的主题定为“基督居首位” （Let Christ be First），挑战会众委身于基督 （基督主权 & 生命成长）和邻舍（福音工作 & 传承生命）。至于福音使命，求神帮助我们， 持守一个简单的理念：有撒种，就有收割。虽然撒种不一定马上收割，但是只要有撒种，总会有收割的时候。
For the past 30 years, several pastors and co-workers have contributed to the growth of Coronation. Our current Acting Senior Pastor Rev. (Dr.) Elijah Liang has been with the church since 1992. Rev. Chiang Wei Sin has also served as our Consultant Pastor since 1998. Pastor Wen Ya-Hui of the 1st Service (now known as Mandarin Service) and Pastor Tan Choon Meng Samuel of the 2nd service (now known as English Service) also joined the Pastoral Team in 2014 and 2018, respectively.
Coronation strives to build the Church of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, through teaching of the Bible and fulfilling the objectives of the Church Constitution.
在过去的30年中，感恩有数位牧者同工付出牧养加冕。目前的代主任牧师梁以利亚牧师（博士）自1992年以来，在加冕服事。姜维信牧师自1998年开始担任教会顾问牧师。至于华语崇拜和英语崇拜的牧者，温雅卉传道和陈俊明传道分别 于2014年和2018年加入加冕的教牧团队。
加冕致力于通过圣经的教导以及教会章程中的目标，不断建立耶稣基督我们救主的教会。
